On Day 4 of Baselworld, Planet Swatch became Planet Sports and welcomed five Swatch Proteam athletes. Heroes in the world of high-performance competitive sports, champion surfers Courtney Conlogue (shortboard) and Darci Liu (longboard) brought their boards, Xavier De Le Rue and Anne-Flore Marxer their snowboards and freestyle motocross (FMX) legend Mat Rebeaud brought his motor bike. The athletes presented themselves and their sports while greeting their fans. All through the day, they spoke about their passion – what drives them to perform, living on the edge, the risks, fears, joys and pleasure of doing what they love to do.
Since it launched in 1983, Swatch has always been a big fan and huge supporter of sports of all kinds, from the early days of snowboarding and beach volleyball to the amazing range of disciplines at the Olympic Games. Today, Swatch throws its energy behind women’s surfing, freestyle and freeride skiing and snowboarding, freestyle motocross and, since 2012, the rough-and-tumble sport of ice-cross downhill.

Swatch and Art fell in love at first sight, and today they’re as mad about each other as ever. Challenged to work on “the world’s smallest canvas”, artists have created amazing Swatch watches and helped art escape from museums and galleries to the wrists of millions around the world.
Visitors to the fair had a rare opportunity to watch four artists at work on big canvases: Ellen Shang, Ted Scapa, Ugo Nespolo and Orianne Zanone.

Meet Swatch Proteam athlete Courtney Conlogue, 20 years old and already living her dream as a professional surfer. As one of the top female surfers on the ASP Women’s World Championship Tour, she’s chasing the World Title by training hard both in and out of the water.
Most recently, Courtney claimed the 4th stop of the 2013 ASP Women’s World Championship Tour, the TSB Bank NZ Surf Festival in Taranaki, over Swatch Proteam sidekick Coco Ho. This recent victory pushes Courtney up two spots to a current 3rd position on the ASP Women’s WCT Ranking.
Next stop on the WCT will be the Billabong Rio Pro from May 8-14.

“This nomination and to be recognized by the White House is an absolute honor for me. It’s also a testament to the work that we’re doing at Protect Our Winters and how important fighting climate change is to the future of our sport and economy”, said Jones.
